Smoothly Run
The idea for the Running Room was born out a desire to be served by a staff that actually knows more than a thing or two about running shoes. John Stanton, a seasoned runner, decided that he would have to fill this niche himself, as none of the other sports stores seemed to be able to. He started out by opening a small one room store in the renovated living room of an old house in Edmonton, hence the name, Running Room. The concept was highly successful and has since expanded to over 72 locations across Canada and the U.S.
The Running Room reputation has been built upon product innovation, quality and the knowledge of running. The main product sold is shoes, but the store also carries a selection of accessories (stop watches, strollers, socks) workout clothes (the Running Room's has developed a unique private label in order to provide customers with the best in style, functionality, fabric innovations and affordability) and books about running.
Health Clinics
Selling the products is one thing, but the Running Room go one step further. Visit any of the stores and you will find an incredible number of services and clinics designed to help you get fit, such as walking, learning to run, marathon, half marathon, 10K training, personal best, and women only running clinics.
