Sage Bistro is housed in a free-standing two-storey log constructed building along Bow Valley Trail in Canmore, with spectacular views of the adjacent Rocky Mountains. The main dining room is beautifully appointed and located on the ground floor of the building. The upper level houses two private dining rooms for parties of up to 30. In good weather there are decks attached to the premises which allow for patrons to sit outside and take in the views. A brunch menu is available on weekends until 2:00 p.m.. Approximately five times a year there are special Sage Bistro Supper Club events planned, which feature unique food and wine pairings. If you wish to receive word of these events, check with the management.
Soups, Salads, and Appetizers
To start your meal, there are soups du jour, as well as a signature onion soup with caramelized onions, veal broth, and baked Oka cheese. Salads include house greens or a spinach salad with grilled citrus vinaigrette, double smoked bacon, mandarin orange segments, goat cheese, and roasted red peppers. The appetizer list includes flash sautéed calamari, P.E.I. mussels, a grilled vegetable platter, Janice Beaton cheese selection, steak satays, and a mountain antipasta plate with assorted game meats, seafood, marinated vegetables, cheeses, olives, and crackers.
Entrées for All Tastes
For an entrée, choose from such delights as seared maple soy salmon, a seared double cut pork chop stuffed with oven-dried thyme, tomatoes, spinach, and smoked gouda, a bison striploin with maple blueberry butter, a chicken and prawn curry bowl, or an Alberta venison meat loaf. Side dishes are also available, including pomme frites with red pepper, sweet potato fries, baby button mushrooms, and garlic or cheese toast.
