Good things come in small packages
The South Glenmore Park acts as a southern guardian of the Glenmore Reservoir and western neighbour of the Weaselhead Natural Area. Maintaining ecological integrity and protection of Calgary’s water are some of the most important priorities of the South Genmore Park and the Glenmore Reservoir. That however, does not overshadow this park’s recreational facilities, of which a great variety are offered year-round.

Outdoor fun in the sun and snow
The snow and cold of winter is no excuse to hibernate indoors. South Glenmore Park has fantastic cross-country skiing trails that satisfy both the amateur and the expert. The trails remain un-groomed during the winter, giving the experienced skier the opportunity to navigate their own path while providing a stellar physical challenge. For the amateur to intermediate cross-country skier, classes are provided though city recreation programs.

Warm up
During spring and fall, there is no better way to celebrate the colours of the seasons than to enjoy a picnic in the midst of the gorgeous scenery. There are picnic and event facilities throughout the park. South Glenmore Park can accommodate special events ranging from family picnics to small weddings. Reservations can be arranged through the city’s Parks & Recreation department.

Hot fun in the summertime
South Glenmore Park comes alive during the summer. For families, the Spray Park allows parents to relax while the kids expend enormous amounts of energy playing in the water. The park also plays host to the Glenmore Sailing Club where education and recreation meet to create an unforgettable summer. Lessons and rentals are available from May to October. The biggest of all the rentals is a Day Cruiser named the “Jane Mary,” a skippered recreational boat that can accommodate eight to 10 people.
