Where the Past Meets the Present
Now located on the Elbow River, The Dean House was built facing Fort Calgary's barracks, the parade square and a cricket field in 1906. This historic site and restaurant is named after Captain Richard Burton Deane, superintendent of Fort Calgary, who lived in the house from 1906 to 1914. It a passed through a number of hands during its lifetime but now The Deane House is now the destination for diners who enjoy an atmosphere spiced with the past and perhaps a touch of murder and mayhem.

Magnificent View
Have the scrumptious weekend brunch, on the glassed-in veranda area with a magnificent view of the Elbow River, or on the outdoor patio and admire the lawns and gardens surrounding the home. Enjoy a simple coffee or dine on anything from PEI Mussels to the fulfilling Dean House Sandwich.

Dinner with a Side Order of Murder
Friday nights include Comic Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre, presented by the Deane House and Pegasus Performances. Characters commit murder and mayhem during three acts and a four-course dinner at a fixed price. It’s a fun birthday destination or a unique Friday night date. The plays change from month to month, so even if you come back a few times the experience will be entirely new.
