Roti is a traditional flatbread filled with curried meat or vegetables. The menu at the House Roti is filled with chicken. Non-meat eaters can enjoy the vegetarian roti with chick peas and potato and seafood lovers may want to try the shrimp roti. In all there are eight different types of this dish to choose from.
From The Sea
Seeing as Trinidad and Tobago are surrounded by water, it is no wonder that the menu is filled with seafood entrées. Try the pepper shrimp, served with peas and rice, or maybe the red snapper. The lunch menu includes browned or jerk chicken and curry dishes. For a sweet treat after your main course customers should try out one of their ice creams that come in nine different flavours. For a taste of the islands try the rum and raisin, the coconut or the mango. Don’t worry, there’s good old chocolate ice cream if it happens to be your favourite.
Wash It Down
Don’t forget to try out one of the ethnic drinks that these folks serve up. Drinks include customer favourites like the mauby, papaya, and the Jamaican pop. For something with a little more kick, they also serve liquor including Carib Lager, rum and wines.
