The Toad and Turtle is designed in the grand old English tradition. The pub is adorned with rich dark wood carved and shaped in a Victorian architectural style. What really gives the Toad and Turtle its English flavour though, is the food and drink. They have traditional English beers on tap, like Guinness, and English pub fare, like Yorkshire pudding.
Not as Gray as the UK!
The Toad and Turtle may have a British appeal, but you won’t forget you’re in Calgary. As you walk in the front door you’ll notice the pub has two sides. One side looks like the traditional English pub dinning area, while the other side may seem a bit more familiar. Adorned with hockey gear and Canadian beer posters, this room has more of a Calgary appeal. The left room also has pool, Golden Tee video golf, a big screen TV and VLT. One detail that will grab your attention right away is the 12 foot wall of alcohol. This mirrored shelving for hard liquor makes your favourite brand seem even more appealing.
Easy Access
Located on the corner of Barlow Trail and 27th Ave. NE, the Toad and Turtle is right between fine accommodations and shopping, and only five minutes from Calgary’s main freeway, Deerfoot Trail. The staff at the Turtle will make you feel welcome with their warm and friendly service. The Turtle keeps 10 or more beers on tap at any given time and some of their food specialties include: sambuca prawns, pizza and AAA sirloin steak. Drop in on Saturday or Sunday morning for a weekend breakfast out.
