Nestled in the heart of McKenzie Towne, UpTowne Gelato has established itself as a dessert destination worth a visit – and then some. The frozen treat that mimics ice cream, but boasts superior flavour, is made daily at UpTowne with ingredients imported from Italy. Unlike traditional ice cream, fruit or chocolate serve as the basic recipe foundations. The result is a fresh, flavourful experience that can be enjoyed inside the colourful and modern shop, outside on UpTowne’s wrought iron bistro tables or in the comfort of your own home.
Every Day is a New Experience
With 24 colourful and deliciously designed flavours to choose from, there’s indeed something for everyone. Favourites include the Lemon Sorbet, Mango, Tiramisu, Stracciatella (a caramel base with bits of chocolate) and Mozart (a hazelnut, chocolate, pistachio and almond combination). Children are seen and heard at UpTowne, gravitating towards the bold colours and tastes of the Bubblegum and Blue Sky Cotton Candy gelatos. Each visit is a new adventure, as Uptowne rotates gelatos daily, choosing from a vault of 50 flavours.
More Than Just Gelatos
Gelatos are sold by a single, double or triple scoop. Cones are available in place of cups, and tubs are available to those who want to bring their dessert home. If you’re not into frozen treats, the UpTowne also serves serving fine coffees, espressos, lattes and smoothies.
