Named after the fearless Bill Peyto, a courageous and adventurous mountain climber and guide from years ago, Wild Bill’s Legendary Saloon & Cookhouse is the place to relax after a day in the mountains surrounding Banff. Open since 1991, Wild Bill’s has made a name for itself with locals and tourists alike. The rustic walls are filled with a museum of sorts. Alberta Heritage, old Banff and vintage miner pictures can be viewed throughout the saloon and cookhouse.
Line Dance and Two-Step
With a capacity of 600 people, Wild Bill’s can accommodate a lot of hungry people. The area is large enough to have its own dance hall where you can learn to line dance, or practice your two-step with your favorite sweetheart. Maybe you’d rather try calf roping with your buddies? Wild Bill’s is set up to help you practice your roping skills.
Live Entertainment
Wild Bill’s is the place to go to enjoy live entertainment in Banff. Along with local bands, bigger bands like Trooper and Maestro Fresh West have used Wild Bill’s as their venue of choice. You can usually find a live country band to dance to on the weekends.
No One Will Go Home Hungry
Well known for large portions of Tex Mex and western menu items Wild Bill’s doesn’t want to see anyone go home hungry. The menu offers such fare as a 16 oz. t-bone steak, baby back ribs, salads, Wild Billy Chili, Southwestern Egg rolls and Nachos Grande. If you’re feeling adventurous you might want to try the Wild Game Stew – wild boar, elk, buffalo and veggies over noodles - just the meal you need after a day of skiing or hiking.
