William Watson Lodge opens up the splendor of Kananaskis Country to people of all abilities. Through wheelchair accessible accommodations, the lodge ensures that everyone can enjoy the beauty of Peter Lougheed Provincial Park and the Kananaskis Lakes. The main objective of the Lodge is to provide accessible accommodation, but it also plays an integral role in the development of barrier-free outdoor facilities throughout all of Kananaskis Country.
Beautiful surroundings & choices
Aside from the main day-use lodge, the facility also features 22 accessible cabins and 13 vehicle campsites. First priority is given to those that are severely disabled, as in legally blind, non-ambulatory, or deaf. Second priority goes to semi-ambulatory and those who are medically fragile. Third priority is to any senior citizens. In the summer, the lodge offers barrier-free hikes, fishing, picnic sites and interpretive programs. Winter visitors can enjoy cross-country and downhill skiing.
Come for the day, stay for 14
If you’re just in the area for the day, they have picnic sites available on a first come first serve basis, the main lodge can also be booked by senior groups or for special events. When you visit William Watson Lodge you’ll have loads of accessible fun for a very reasonable price. The maximum stay allowed is 14 days.
