Shots fired At the Badlands
This course overlooks the world famous Tyrell Dinosaur Museum. Club members at Dinosaur Golf Club expanded the original nine-hole course in 1995 to include a spectacular nine hole course amid the badlands terrain. The first nine holes were originally opened in 1965. The two courses are distinctly different with the first nine holes mostly flat, well-treed and relatively comfortable for the regular golfer. The second nine however, can be a challenge even for some low-handicappers.

Lots op hills and valleys
If you are not used to walking up and down hills a power-cart is strongly advised before tackling the second nine. The walk up to the 10th tee is a challenge in itself. But once there, you will encounter exhilarating scenery as you view a course that has been designed around environmentally sensitive badlands terrain with lots of peaks and valleys that invite wayward balls. However, the trick in playing the back course is to be accurate rather than long. Long hitters will definitely want to put away the driver on some holes in favour of their irons.

The back nine
The 10th hole is a good indication of what lies ahead. Built on a ridge, you face a narrow fairway with out-of-bounds on both left and right hand sides. If you have a habit of slicing or hooking the ball on your drive, you might want to play safe and use an iron off the tee. The signature hole is number 16, a 198-yard, par 3, requiring a tee shot over water and offering the golfer a unique view of the valley as well as the course. Water comes into play on six holes altogether. A word of advice. Don't spend time looking for your ball or trampling over the terrain. Take the one-shot penalty, enjoy the scenery, and have fun. There's no other course like it.
