Profile Last Updated: February 25, 2008
Located in the Cascade Mountains approximately 220 km east of Vancouver, Manning Park was established in 1941 as a multi-purpose recreational area and nature preserve and has long been southwestern B.C.'s premier cross-country skiing destination. With acres of accessible terrain, Nordic skiers and snow-shoers alike revel in the majesty and serenity of this diamond in the rough.
Everything You’re Looking For
The alpine ski area offers everything that a top skier or snowboarder needs, with 24 runs dropping over 437 metres. With nary a line-up to be found, and lift tickets less than half of what bigger resorts charge, skiers couldn’t ask for more. If you’re searching for a little peace and quiet and less of a dent in the pocket book, then Manning Park Resort is the mountain for you.
Head to the Hills
There's more than just skiing and snowboarding at Manning Park Resort. Boarders can work on their tricks in the terrain park, where the rails and other features will tempt daredevils. Folks who are leery of skiing or boarding can try the Polar Coaster tube park, where three different slope levels tempt the timid and the daring. The snow play area near the tube park is perfect for folks who want to rocket down the slopes on a toboggan.
