Ever hit a shot from 5,100 feet above sea level? Well, that's what happens on the sweeping, downhill dogleg 9th hole where a golfer can see for miles. Silvertip, while it may not be in the same price range as your average city golf club, is the type of course that you have to play at least once in your lifetime. The scenery and photo opportunities alone are worth the investment.

Canmore's Les Furber has designed a resort course that will serve up a lot of pars and birdies, as well as some stunning views usually reserved for hardened hikers. Most holes are surrounded by mountain peaks, and elevation changes (nearly 500 feet) allow the average player to see hang time on tee shots they've never experienced before. Bring a camera, pack a thesaurus (you'll get tired of saying 'Wow') and prepare for fun. Winding high-above bustling Canmore, SilverTip is not walkable and a cart is mandatory for some major excursions from greens to tee boxes.

The food service at Silvertip Golf Course is a bit more elegant than you may be used to at a golf course. You can sit by the fire, sip on a glass of wine and enjoy some fine dining or take the more casual approach in the clubhouse. They have full service conference facilities as well if you happen to be planning something extravagant. Silvertip also offers players a driving range and putting greens to ensure the swing and stroke is bang on before heading out on the course.
