Profile

Dude looks like a lady.
Aerosmith has been one of rock's most revered and wildly popular bands, crafting timeless songs full of raw guitars and fiercely energetic vocals. With sales of over 100 million albums world-wide, winners of four Grammy awards, a passionate and dedicated "Blue Army" fan base, and an induction into the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame, Aerosmith has landed 26 Top 40 hits throughout their career.

The band first reached stardom in the 1970s with a string of chart-topping songs, including "Dream On," "Sweet Emotion" and "Walk This Way." During this period, Aerosmith's music defied easy categorization, falling somewhere between bluesy hard rock and early-era punk, with occasional ballads here and there.

Their hits from the 1980s and 1990s include a cover of "Walk This Way" with Run D.M.C., "Dude (Looks Like a Lady)," "Angel," "Rag Doll," "Love in an Elevator," "Janie's Got a Gun," "Livin' on the Edge," "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing," "Jaded," and the list goes on.

Aerosmith's most recent effort re-emphasizes the band's position as rock's quintessential live band.
