Profile
This heartwarming musical is based on Peanuts, the celebrated comic strip by the late Charles M. Schultz. You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown unfolds as a series of song-and-dance scenes in comic-strip style to reveal the world as seen through the eyes of five elementary school-aged children and one unusual beagle. The musical premiered in New York in 1967, and features songs like "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown" and "Suppertime".
The revised revival
In 1997, producer Michael Leavitt and director Michael Mayer started working on a revival of the then 30-year-old musical. Scenes and songs were rewritten, and two new songs were added to the show. The new show opened on Broadway in February, 1999, and was a hit with audiences and critics.
